SOHAR PORT AND FREEZONE WINS DEAL OF THE YEAR AT THE MARITIME STANDARD AWARDS

SOHAR Port and Freezone has been awarded “Deal of the Year” at the Maritime Standard Awards 2025, held on 29 October 2025 in Dubai. The award honors SOHAR’s achievement in signing three fundamental contracts that mark the official start of the construction phase of the MARSA LNG Project, the 1.6 billion USD LNG bunkering facility, a milestone that reinforces SOHAR’s position as a leading hub for sustainable industrial and energy development in Oman.

 

Under the first agreement, WSP International Oman Branch was awarded a consultancy services contract to provide project management, back-office support, design review, site supervision, and contract management. The second agreement was signed with Boskalis International Oman Branch for dredging works, involving the removal of approximately 3.8 million cubic meters of material to develop the access channel, berth pocket, and turning circle. The third contract was awarded to Six Construct LLC Oman Branch, covering the construction of the LNG jetty, shore protection, and drainage systems.

With this milestone, SOHAR Port and Freezone continue to advance its mission of creating an integrated, future-ready ecosystem that supports the nation’s Vision 2040 and Net Zero 2050 objectives.
